FAQ's
How many practices can I come to?
The schedule varies slightly based on holidays & skating meets, but generally a skater may attend three hour-long practices a week.
What if I miss a practice?
Attendance is not taken at practices. However, the more a skater attends their practice sessions, the greater improvement they will see. There is no refund of dues for missed sessions.
What if I don't have speedskates?
Hockey skates or figure skates may be used at first. As soon as possible we try to help you locate speedskates, whether used or new. Gateway is not responsible for providing a skater with speedskates, but we have started a small rental program to assist beginning skaters.

Unfortunately, our "official" season has ended, however, there will be summer dryland training conducted by coach Anne Parker and "Open Speedskating" sponsored by the Kirkwood Ice Rink. Once the schedule is made it will be posted here. There are camps during the summer that skaters may attend as well. That information will be posted when it becomes available. Our season will officially begin next September. To get an idea of our schedule you can look at this year's practices posted under the Calendar tab.
